The Master of Science (M.S.) in Cyber Intelligence program at the University of Dallas specializes in the application of the most sought-after skills in the key fields of business analytics and cybersecurity. As a STEM-designated program, the M.S. in Cyber Intelligence combines cybersecurity principles — such as cryptography, penetration testing, forensics and strategic management perspective — with the most relevant statistical and programming techniques. UD’s cyber program is designated a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

What is Cyber Intelligence?

In the field of cybersecurity, there are many devices that are collecting massive amounts of cyber data. This data is collected in many formats and is generated by smart devices, website traffic, mobile devices, social media, application software and more. Cyber Intelligence studies and analyzes this data to provide insights that reduce or stop risk associated with internal and external threats, financial fraud, identity threats and other types of risk. The overall Cyber Intelligence objective is to identify and isolate suspicious activity, and find and mitigate risks before breaches occur.

What Will I Study?

The Master of Science (M.S.) in Cyber Intelligence in the Gupta College of Business is designed to offer students a real-world education taught by experienced industry professionals. The Cyber Intelligence master’s program dives into the critical topics facing organizations today, including data protection, legal and compliance, operational and strategic cybersecurity management, penetration testing and digital forensics, big data analytics, quantitative methods, Python and R programming, data visualization and predictive modeling. No prior experience in cybersecurity or business analytics is required for entry into this program.

Enterprise Architecture

The Master of Science in Cyber Intelligence is a 42-hour program that prepare students to develop the tools they need for their career. No GMAT or GRE is required for admission. For the typical working professional taking two classes per semester, the M.S. in Cyber Intelligence program can be completed in about 2-3 years. Up to 75 percent of classes can be completed online.

In addition, the Cyber Intelligence program is part of the STEM-designated degree programs that qualify international graduates for an optional practical training (OPT) extension of 24 months, for a total of 36 months.
